What is squint?
Deviation of eyes from the normal position is called squint (bhenga-pan in hindi). It is noticed in most of the cases as both eyes look in different directions to each other.
What are the complications of squint?
Squint not only makes the patient self-aware and poor in confidence, it can also be a sign of hidden diseases in the eye like refractive errors, thyroid disease, eye tumours, orbital tumours, eye injury, retinal detachment, and blindness etc.
What is the treatment of squint?
The treatment of squint depends on the cause of the squint. Complete evaluation by the eye doctor is necessary to decide the course of treatment which can include any of the following – surgery, medicines, eye drops, glasses, orthoptic exercises.
